Savannah, Georgia is one of the top tourist destinations in the South, so it was only appropriate that JetBlue Airways this weekend announced that Savannah will be the airline's 50th nonstop city from Boston.
JetBlue is currently the largest airline in Boston with up to 121 daily flights that cover the entire country.
Residents of Massachusetts know when they need to get somewhere nonstop, they check JetBlue first.
"Nonstop service opens up Massachusetts to new markets and strengthens our tourism sector," said Governor Deval Patrick. "I congratulate JetBlue and thank the company for their continued commitment to expanding in Massachusetts."
Savannah is a jewel in the South with so much to offer. From tree-lined cobble-stone streets to a history no other city in North America can match, to great art galleries and superb shopping, Savannah has it all.
USA Weekend Magazine voted Savannah as one of the “top 10 Most Beautiful Places in America.” The New York Times named Savannah one of the “World’s Top Ten Trendy Travel Hot Spots," and Conde Nast Traveler picked the Georgia city as a “Top 10 U.S City to Visit.”
JetBlue will now offer nonstop flights to Savannah and all the fun.
"Serving 50 cities from Boston with all-jet operations is a huge milestone for JetBlue and we hope there are more opportunities for customers to experience our award-winning service to new destinations in the future," adds Marty St. George, JetBlue's senior vice president marketing and commercial strategy. "We appreciate the partnership from Massport, the City of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for helping us achieve this milestone."
