St. Ignatius of Antioch was a martyr for the faith, persecuted by a Roman society unwilling to acknowledge a 'god' greater then their own pantheon of societal inventions. In American, the same thing is happening today. But the martyrs, as of yet, are not Bishops from Antioch, but unborn American people from places like Iowa, Kansas, and New Mexico, the ill and the elderly who don't fit the government's medical prescription for redemption, and believers of many faiths forced to foot the bill for immoral chemical agents of death. This doesn't count the un-bloody martyrs who suffer the loss of Constitutional freedom in the face of the behemoth in socialism--which really is a kind way of saying communism.
"Now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, though testified to by the law and the prophets, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe." Romans 3:21-30
Secularists, socialists, and communists just don't get it. It doesn't really matter what WE do; rather, all that matters is what God does, and what we do in response. Utopia upon utopia has already collapsed, disintegrated, and fallen into the scrap heap of history. Progressives, secularists, socialists, and communists always revise history so that their utopia will appear as the bright morning star! President Obama is just another rhetorical propagandist in this foolish human endeavor. For without the true bright Morning Star which rose from the dead, bringing with Him the blessings of His Blood shed on the Cross, there is no true utopia in heaven, just phases in human experiments, all bound to fail.
"If you, O LORD, mark iniquities, Lord, who can stand? But with you is forgiveness, that you may be revered." Psalm 130:1-6
Barack can give us free phones, but only Jesus can set us free from the chains that bind us. Barack can feed our belly with government 'free-food' credit cards, but only Jesus can feed us on His Body and Blood, giving us the Life of God in true and everlasting Love. Barack can give great speeches, promising us everything, but only Jesus testifies to His gospel Truth in the grace to live in virtue, truth, and compassion. For one is only a President...and the other One God.
"‘I will send to them prophets and Apostles; some of them they will kill and persecute’ in order that this generation might be charged with the blood of all the prophets..." Luke 11:47-54
Jesus spoke these words to the generation that killed Him, the Prophet of all prophets, the Word of God Himself. But these words speak equally to a generation that has killed millions upon millions of unborn people in abortion, and has plans to rid themselves of expensive, and useless, human persons in acts of euthanasia masked as medical decisions (for societal benefit) under the Obama 'care' plan. By forcing Catholics, and people of other faiths, moreover, to disobey their consciences and pay for contraceptives and abortive chemical agents, the Obama administration forces the Body of Christ, Christ Himself, to defy the government in the witness of the martyr. Things WILL get worse. Snowballs rolling downhill only get bigger. And I can't think of a bigger snowball than the President's 'will to power.'
The question is, when the Obama spit hits the fan, will we, like St. Ignatius of Antioch, react as martyrs, or will we bow to the generation that spills the prophet's blood?
