Jesus Is The Reason For The Season Stop Rushing

See also

As we busy ourselves with task as this year ends, we need to slow down and realize that Jesus is the reason for the season. It is not about rushing around to spend money buying gifts that we will end of paying for into the New Year. We should not get in a hurry because that is exactly what Satan wants us to do. He wants us to hurry so he can force us to act before we pray.
To strengthen ourselves we must pray and study the word daily. Each time we study the word we are putting a wedge in Satan’s plans for our lives. When we trust and believe in God and in the Word of God we will have a more abundant life. We will also have the strength that we need to keep us anchored in the Lord.
Keep in mind that we cannot only be hearers of the word but also doer’s of the word because even Satan can hear the word and knows the word but he is not a doer of the word. James reminds us “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass…” (James 1:22, 23)
Studying the word gives us a closer relationship with God. It allows us to know of all the goodness and the unconditional love He has for each and every one of us. Studying the word also protects us from falling into the teaching of false prophets. Suppose a false prophet was to tell you that the word says that we don’t need to work because if you turn over ten rocks the eleventh one will have a treasure hidden beneath it. So go home and wait for the Lord to come and tell you where the rocks are that you need to turn over. How then would you know if it was true or false if you fail to study the word for yourself? The word is our strength, our ammunition against Satan’s plot to kill, steal and destroy us. That is Satan’s mission, his job, and his purpose. By keeping us from the word he keeps us down and beaten and by keeping us so busy that we don’t take time or make time to pray he stops our direct line of communication with the Lord. So as you begin your day, begin it with prayer! Satan wants us to forget about Jesus, Our Lord and Our Savior!
Let Us Pray:
Heavenly Father we come to you asking that you would give us perfect peace that passes all understanding. Please strengthen us as we go through this holiday Lord. Keep our minds on you and only you Lord. Help us to gain wisdom and understanding as we read and study your Word Lord. Please protect us from Satan’s attacks and place your hedge of protection around us. Job said, “Thou they slay me yet will I trust him” and we feel the same way Lord. Although the enemy tries to slay us and tear us down on every side Father we will continue to have faith as a grain of mustard seed and trust in you and only you. For you are Jehovah Jireh, our one and only provider and you are Jehovah Shalom, our Lord of Peace. Thank you Lord for being the mighty force in our lives and for loving us in spite of our shortcomings. You deserve all of the glory, all of the praise, and all of the honor Lord. Amen!
