FanBase Promotions announced they be will sending Jesus "El Martillo" Gonzales (27-2, 14 KOs) to the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas to begin his camp in preperation for his upcoming bout with the crafty Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora (23-3-2, 7 KOs).
Gonzales, a Phoenix native will have his skill as a fighter tested when he faces a tough Mora. The two are scheduled to fight in late April or early May in Phoenix. FanBase Vice President, Ralph Velez says the event will be televised, possibly on ESPN Friday Night Fights. Velez went on to say that Gonzales is an official sparring partner of Floyd Mayweather.
Gonzales-Mora will be a great fight, both fighters are at a crossroad career wise, and both are known for putting on a show and want to prove they both still have plenty of game left in them. The two brawlers have always put on a good scrap and this fight will be no different. The bout may have the potential to be Arizona fight of the year.
Velez also said he is working on a bout that will pit Abel Ramos (6-0, 3 KOs) against Eddie Brooks (9-4, 3 KOs) in a tough welterweight battle. Brooks suffered a tough loss to Thomas Dulorme last month and will want to redeem himself.
The card at this point is shaping up nicely, Velez says the show is in the works and will release details on the date and Phoenix location soon. One thing is certain, Phoenix boxing fans will witness a stellar night of boxing.
