When a person signs up to appear on a show called, “Dating Naked” the title tells it all. You appear in front of producers, cast members, camera’s and everyone else involved in making this show, without wearing any clothes. Apparently, Jessie believes that too much of her personal area was left exposed and millions of viewers saw too much.
When "Dating Naked" aires on TV, most of a person’s body appears to TV viewing audiences. Jessie insists they promised her that her breasts and genital area would be very blurred. However, they forgot to blur one scene, revealed in a trailer shot of Jessie wrestling on the beach with her date. As Jessie watches the trailer on TV, she discovers that they briefly show her crotch area and it was not blurred at all.
Jessie hired a lawyer to file a lawsuit against the VH1 operator, Viacom, and the two production companies. The unedited version of her playful wrestle made all the social media sites like Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and Instagram, giving her the kind of fame she was not looking for on a TV show.
According to Entertainment Weekly, part of the lawsuit reads, “Plaintiff… was shocked, horrified and outraged to observe this intrusion into her privacy for all to see. Immediately Plaintiff became subject to ridicule by those watching. … Plaintiff has suffered and continues to suffer extreme emotional distress, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment. … Defendants knew or reasonably should have known that broadcasting an individual’s vagina and anus on national cable television would cause substantial and severe emotional distress.”
Since the trailer ran on TV, Jessie has not heard from the man she was dating at the time.
Was this an oversight on the filming and production companies, or did they deliberately not blur that region of her body out for a boost in ratings? Tell us your thoughts on this matter below in the comments section.
