What's more? Reportedly, the 33-year-old mother of two would even like to leave Los Angeles.
So what's keeping her in the entertainment hot spot?
A source reveals that Jessica and fiance Eric Johnson choose to remain because he loves to play golf.
“Jessica has told friends that she’s 100 percent done with acting and never wants to read another script,” the insider dished.
Simpson hasn't always received favorable reviews from the acting critics. However, she has never had a shortage of offers or money-making opportunities. Still, she has chosen to retire from that path of life.
Reportedly, Simpson is focused on being a business woman. She has a shoe line which she gives a great deal of attention to. Also, being a mom has changed her outlook. Apparently, she no longer desires to entertain or be part of the social scene of acting in LA.
But now, the source explained, “She really keeps L.A. as their home base for Eric — his closest friends live there and he’s so addicted to golf that the weather makes it one of the best places to live."
“Jessica loves New York City but they don’t live there full time because Eric needs to be out on the golf course even in the winter.”
While golf seems like a small reason to stay rooted in LA, it apparently makes all the difference for Johnson and Simpson.
Simpson's most notable acting roles include Daisy Duke in the 'Dukes of Hazzard,' remake, and 'Employee of the Month.' She has also been featured in several TV series. From 2003-2005, Simpson and then husband Nick Lachey were the star couple on 'Newlyweds.'
Aside from acting and pop singing, Simpson released a country album in 2008. However, 'Do You Know' was her one and only country music project.
It seems as though Simpson is simply giving her attention to the people in her life and other ventures these days.
