Jessica Simpson talks mentoring, season 2 of 'Fashion Star'

Jessica Simpson is really looking forward to the second season of "Fashion Star." Discussing the show Wednesday, Feb. 27, Simpson says the highlight of working on the show again is actually being hands on and working closely with the designers.

"I came back to "Fashion Star" because I was really excited to work with the designers. As mentors, our job is to help the designers with making sure their choices are correct," Simpson shared Wednesday.

One major change that viewers will see when "Fashion Star" returns is that the judges will also act as mentors and have their own handpicked team of designers. Working closely with their team, they will help them make the best choices when it comes to presenting items for retailers. That includes making sure that their idea is not just unique, but something that people will actually buy.

"The best part about "Fashion Star" is watch it and buy it. A woman couldn't ask for anything better," says Simpson.

In related news, "Fashion Star" has a new buyer this season. Joining Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue is Express.
