Jessica Simpson, who lost all her baby weight just six months after giving birth to her second child, said fitting into her wedding dress is her weight-loss motivation.
“Knowing that I have the wedding coming up is an incentive to stay on Weight Watchers, count my points and stay in the gym," Simpson told People Jan. 2. "When you see my dress, you’ll know.”
Jessica has reportedly lost about 50 pounds since June 2013 by following a portion-controlled diet comprised of lean proteins, non-fat dairy, and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
For exercise, Simpson walks five miles a day, and works out with a trainer four days a week combining cardio exercise with strength-training.
Simpson, a paid rep for Weight Watchers, said setting small, achievable goals every week kept her motivated. Jessica, 33, encouraged others who want to lose weight to start off with small goals in the beginning.
“I think if you do set [weight-loss] resolutions, it shouldn’t be something grand," she said. "It should just be about getting started on something and seeing if you can stick with it.”
Jessica, who has struggled with weight most of her adult life, said she's dieting and exercising to feel good, not just to be skinny.
“I’m just trying to feel good in a pair of jeans and T-shirt,” she said. “I can’t wait to be able to feel just comfortable in my skin and know that I’m back to the person I’ve been before. I know this time I’m going to be so much stronger and so much more empowered, because I really earned it."
Simpson has been engaged for former NFL star Eric Johnson since 2010. The couple has two children: daughter, Maxwell, 20 months, and son Ace, six months.
