Jessica Simpson put her toned legs and 70-pound weight loss on display in a pair of super-short daisy dukes, Us reported Aug. 22. In the sizzling photo, Simpson wore a sleeveless black tank top, short-shorts and platform heels that accentuated her muscular legs.
Simpson is in the best shape of her life after losing 70 pounds on a low-carb, sugar-free Weight Watchers diet. Simpson, a rep for Weight Watchers, switched to a vegan diet in the two weeks leading up to her July 5 wedding to accelerate weight loss.
In addition to following a low-carb, sugar-free diet, Jessica walked six miles every day, did yoga, and worked out at the gym for 45 minutes, four days a week, with her longtime trainer Harley Pasternak.
Pasternak said Jessica's workouts combined 10 to 20 minutes of cardio exercise, 20 to 30 minutes of resistance training, and lots of flexibility moves.
Harley said the secret to Jessica's super-toned legs is walking 10,000 steps every day, and doing squats and dead lifts while holding weights. Pasternak also trains Halle Berry, Megan Fox (who recently lost all her baby weight on the Paleo diet) and Lady Gaga.
Jessica, who has struggled with weight her entire life, admitted her pregnancy weight gain made her depressed and insecure. Interestingly, Simpson said she believes her weight problems are part of the reason she's so successful with her clothing line, which boasts annual sales of $1 billion. Simpson said women relate to her because she's not naturally skinny and has weight issues, just like many of them do.
Jessica said she is glad she never caved in to the extreme pressure to resort to starvation diets or other unhealthy measures. "I was proud of myself throughout that period for not doing every crash diet and trying to get as skinny as I could, or not eating," she said.
Simpson, who's divorced from singer Nick Lachey, began dating former NFL star Eric Johnson in 2010. The couple has two children: daughter, Maxwell, age two, and one-year-old son Ace.
