In an era where celebrity moms often shed their baby weight under media spotlights, Jessica Simpson has become a pro after restoring her pre-baby body twice. At her wedding rehearsal dinner, Jessica proudly showed off her weight loss success on Weight Watchers, reported E News on Friday.
As the spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, Jessica lost her pregnancy pounds gradually after the birth of her second child. She is estimated to have lost 70 pounds on the plan.
The Weight Watchers diet emphasizes protein, vegetables, fruit and portion-controlled servings of foods such as grains. Jessica has been staying true to the weight loss plan, and her rehearsal dinner featured fish and vegetables, reported Hollywood Life on Friday.
Also on the menu: Beer, wine and cocktails. And before the rumors start that Jessica went off her diet: Alcohol is allowed on the Weight Watchers plan. They even have an online community group entitled "Wine Lovers and Weight Watchers....how to make it work."
In addition to the Weight Watchers diet, Jessica worked out regularly with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak. He urges all his clients to walk 12,000 steps daily because it "means you burn fat all day," he told Us Weekly.
Jessica's toned arms and legs are a result of the strength-training moves that Harley had her do. Included are bicep curls, lateral raises and tricep extensions.
As for that perfect posture that she displays? They're the result of planks and "superman" exercises, which involve lying face-down with your arms extended. Raise your right arm and left leg, hold for three seconds, then repeat on the opposite side.
If you can't afford a personal trainer and want to get results like Jessica enjoyed, Maria Menounos suggests stealing that 12,000-steps secret and adding in a pedometer to track yourself. In an exclusive interview recently, she told me that she lost 40 pounds by walking and continues to practice it to maintain her weight loss.
"The pedometer was introduced to me by Harley Pasternak. Harley is a big believer in walking, and in striving to get in 10,000 steps a day and that's what I shoot for," she revealed in our interview.
