Jessica Simpson has always been a target when it comes to celebrity weight gain. With the recent birth of her baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson (dad is ex-football player Eric Johnson) Simpson seemed to face the harshest critiques about her weight gain at a time when someone should be receiving well wishes and congratulatory comments.
Jessica debuted her weight loss yesterday on Katie Couric's new daytime talk show "Katie" to speak about the public's obsession with her pregnancy weight gain and the approximate $4 million deal she has inked with Weight Watchers. Jessica has been using the point system from Weight Watchers, walking with a pedometer (she aims for about 14,000 steps a day), and doing strength training workouts with her personal trainer to shed the weight. She has already lost about 40 lbs. and says she is only 10 lbs. away from her "pre-baby" weight. She won't receive the money from Weight Watchers until she reaches her target weight. Keep in mind she just gave birth 4 months ago!
Former singer and reality show sweetheart Simpson runs a successful clothing line that sells everything from shoes to sunglasses to apparel. She also recently launched a children's and maternity clothing line, and her show "Fashion Star" has been picked up for another season. In the midst of all of this hard work, she eventually has a wedding to plan with her fiance Eric - which she told Couric "will not be this year."
