You can spend a lot of money on temporary slimming solutions like cellulite creams and Spanx. But if you want to slip into those skinny jeans, consider following the trend set by Jessica Simpson and Maria Menounos and clip on a pedometer to slim down permanently. Both of these celebrities recently credited their use of pedometers for helping them shed pounds - and we've got the skinny here.
Hard to believe looking at her now, but magnificent Maria wore a size 14 before she lost 40 pounds in one year, according to Us Weekly. In addition to portion control, Maria used pedometer power.
"I use a pedometer to count my steps...my goal is 10,000 a day..today was 14,022...that's 6.21 miles!" she tweeted. Maria noted that she recommends pedometers in her new book, which details her complete diet and fitness program: "The EveryGirl's Guide to Diet and Fitness: How I Lost 40 lbs and Kept It Off-And How You Can Too!" (click for details).
And Jessica also enhances her slim style with a pedometer. ""I try and walk about four miles a day consistently. It makes me feel better," she said in a recent interviewing, noting that she aims for about 10,000 steps daily.
And you don't need to be a celebrity to benefit. Peg Bradford lost 75 pounds by using a pedometer to track her steps, she told NBC 10.
