In a surprise move, Sunday Best Season 2 runner up Jessica Reedy has launched a new independent gospel music label. Introduced tonight via social media, Purity Records is the brainchild of the gifted singer. She had this to say about the birthing of the label:
I am so excited to announce the start of my new label "PURITY RECORDS". The Lord has allowed me to work with amazing people throughout the years.. I have learned and now I am applying.. I thank you all for you continuous support, love and excitement... This will be an inheritance that I can leave to my children's children (Proverbs 13:22) via Instagram
Jessica Reedy is a gifted singer and has been a regular on the gospel scene since her appearance on Sunday Best. Her recording career is peppered with charting albums and singles and has also spotlighted her as guest vocalist on many recordings.
With a string of hits like: "Something Out of Nothing" "God Has Smiled On Me" "Put it on the Altar" and "Doctor Love", Reedy's has done well since her time on Sunday Best. Doing well is clearly no longer good enough and Reedy's ready to no longer be another face in the crowd of gospel music elite. With this move, Reedy readies herself as a mover and shaker in the industry and has taking the furtherance of her career into her own hands.
You're in good hands
Central South is having a stellar week, Purity Records' addition comes on the heels of their signing of the PAJAM record label and the release of Ethan Kent's "Work in Progress". This is good for gospel music and is ensuring that gospel music will be remain competitive in the ever evolving music market place.
All Things New
Reedy's ascent to the helm of her career has severed ties with Light Records, under the eOne Music Label. She also has a new web address which is currently in the development phase. Visitors of the new JessicaReedy.com webpage are greeted by the backdrop of Reedy and the message: "Coming Soon".
What about the rest..?
Independent artists sometimes have difficulty with terrestrial airplay, for Reedy this should be no problem. Her latest single "Better" is receiving airplay nationwide. It's being said that: "indie is the new major"; and overwhelmingly, gospel artists give credibility to that statement. Just last week, indie artist Tamela Mann (also distributed by Central South) swept the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, winning seven.
Congratulations to Reedy who has taken on the arduous task of launching out into the deep, turbulent waters of the recording industry. We wish her and Purity Records continued success!
