Jessica Osborne soars like a Rockette and beyond

Tall, beautiful, and possessing effortless grace, Jessica Cadden Osborne is eminently believable as a Radio City Music Hall Rockettes. Already planning her second feature film shoot as soon as her first one wraps, she is making a shift in her career from dancer to actress. And while it took a great deal of hard work to get to where she is, the journey was also quite gratifying.

The quintessential "girl next door," Jessica combines talent, beauty and a humble work ethic that has enabled her to succeed where people of equal talent but lesser drive have failed. From tap dancing and ballet at age three, to auditioning in New York City at the age of ten and taking voice and acting lessons in her teen years, Jessica learned the value of discipline. Her early experiences exposed her to the business side of things.

Jessica has performed as an aerialist in Fuerza Bruta - truly demanding of her athletic skills. She also put those skills to good use in the physically demanding role of Mira in director Audrey Lorea's epic femme fatale sci-fi thriller "Heaven Is Now." She considers Audrey to be "amazing" and "someone you'd want to have a cup of coffee with at the end of the day." She adds, "More important than anything else is a support system."

Writing and journalism are also numbered among her gifts. After receiving a degree in Jazz Dance Performance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, she at first "wanted to be a writer that danced," but then "became a dancer that writes." This shift in focus has done nothing to faze her, as she sees it as part of discovering who she was meant to be. And in a way, it's not that much of a shift at all, since Jessica sees acting as a different way of telling a story.

Jessica knew from an early age that she was going to be a Rockette, but still had to audition three times to get in. After four years with the troupe she ultimately became the primary dancer featured in their marketing campaign. While she will miss that life as she leaves it behind, she knows that through acting and film, even more adventures await her.
