According to a Dec. 20 report from MMA Junkie, UFC bantamweight star Jessica Eye (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) seeks support for her father's fight against glioblastoma.

With 57 days left, Eye has raised $2,510 of her ultimate goal of $10,000.

The day before Thanksgiving, Eye's father had a large tumor removed from his brain, and the diagnosis was stage IV glioblastoma multiforme.

It was a malignant brain cancer that is known to be highly aggressive.

“He was collapsing, but he wasn’t telling people about it,” Eye (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) told MMAjunkie. “He was having eyesight issues. There were some things leading up to it that, now that we know, it feels like maybe if we would have paid closer attention we would have noticed.

“That’s when we were like, ‘Hey, it’s time to go to the hospital.’ Then they did a CT scan and found the mass in his brain."

The 27-year-old Eye is thankful her dad is still alive, but now she's looking for a little support to help with medical bills and related expenses.

“We did catch it," Eye said. "Now he’s got a pretty big fight ahead of him. I’m just hoping I can help him and support him in any way possible.

“My dad was a single father for a long time. He’s been my biggest supporter since I started with all this. He always had my back, always cheered me on, and was always there for me. He really enjoyed the fact that I was as competitive as I am, because that’s how he is.”

Eye is perhaps best-known for her recent UFC appearance against Sarah Kaufman, where she reigned supreme via decision.

Despite her father's dire diagnosis, Eye says she'll continue to fight on.

"No matter what’s going on in my life, I will always fight," Eye said.
