Jessica Chastain takes another Broadway break to attend Critics' Choice Awards (Video)

On Jan. 10, Jessica Chastain was in Los Angeles while her Broadway show went on in New York City.

But all is well. Understudy Mairin Lee played Chastain's Catherine Sloper character in "The Heiress" at the Walter Kerr Theater located in midtown Manhattan at around the same time the thespian jetsetter picked up the best actress prize inside Santa Monica's Barker Hanger for her role in "Zero Dark Thirty."

While on hand on the Left Coast on Thursday, Jessica was on point with her fashion choice which was a lipstick red Prada number bejeweled at the plunging neckline.

Jimmy Choo peep-toe heels and Harry Winston bling in the form of a collection of ruby and diamond bracelets completed the outfit while Chastain's luxurious red hair was swept to the side, old Hollywood style. Talk about a smash.

That said, now that her immediate Tinseltown obligations have come to a close, Jessica Chastain is likely already winging her way back to Broadway in order to make it for show time on Friday after attending the 18th annual Critics' Choice Awards in LA.

Even if Chastain was forced to schedule a red eye back to the Big Apple, the quick trip across the country again was, no doubt, worth it. After all, this very busy actress was in place when she beat out the likes of brilliant actresses Marion Cotillard, Jennifer Lawrence, Emmanuelle Riva, Quvenzhane Wallis, and Naomi Watts to capture her win while wearing red during her short time on the West coast.

And, besides, she'll be back, and soon. In fact, Mairin Lee is already booked for at least two more times on the boards in the revival in which Jessica has the lead on the Great White Way. The reason? Chastain is set to be on hiatus from "The Heiress"in order to attend The Golden Globes on Jan. 13 and the SAG Awards on Jan. 27, both scheduled in venues in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain earned an Academy Awards nomination early on Thursday morning for best actress for "Zero Dark Thirty."

Her role as a CIA operative is once again up against Jennifer Lawrence, who plays a struggling and scared widow in "Silver Linings Playbook," and Emmanuelle Riva, who plays a very sick woman cared for by her husband in "Amour."

Chastain is also competing another time with child star Quvenzhane Wallis, who plays a wide-eyed girl living on the Louisiana delta in the low budget film called "Beasts of the Southern Wild." She is also repeats the best actress race against Naomi Watts, who plays a brave mother separated from her family after the devastating tsunami hit Thailand in "The Impossible."

To be sure, that's a lot of great talent who took on a lot of great material and, therefore, two very good reasons for Mairin Lee to once again mount the Broadway stage as Catherine Sloper in place of Jessica Chastain on Feb. 24. That way "The Help" Oscar nominee can attend, and maybe even win, at the Academy Awards 2013, set to be held in Hollywood at the Dolby Theatre.

And so, with all that travel booked so that this talent can attend all these award shows that are scheduled all in a row, here's hoping the bi-coastal actress known as Jessica Chastain, Broadway star, and best actress Critics' Choice Awards 2013 winner is not a person who easily succumbs to jet lag.
