David Yates signed on to direct Tarzan in November, and Jessica Chastain has been chosen as the first choice to play Jane, Tarzan’s love interest, in this exciting new movie.
According to earlier reports, this Tarzan theme will center on John Clayton III, the famous “ape man” Tarzan, many years after he’s re-assimilated into English society. He is asked by Queen Victoria to investigate “the goings-on in the Congo,” and so he teams up with a former mercenary named George Washington Williams to save the country from a warlord who controls a massive diamond mine there. Stellan Skarsgard is rumored to be “in the running” for Tarzan, while Samuel L. Jackson remains “rumored to play an ex-mercenary who helps Tarzan save the Congo from a vicious warlord.” The movie is expected to begin shooting over the summer, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
