Jessica Alba shares pregnancy weight-loss advice with fans

Actress Jessica Alba, who gave birth to her second child, daughter Haven Garner Warren on Aug. 13, 2011, recently kicked off her pregnancy weight-loss program with a 40-minute cardio workout.

On Aug. 30, Alba tweeted: "I did my first day of workout since I had the baby, just cardio for 40 mins -it's a start. Anyone else starting a fitness regimen?"

Cardio Interval Training + Plyometrics

After Twitter fans inundated her with exercise and diet questions, Jessica, 30, explained that her workouts now consist of cardio interval training on the exercise bike and elliptical trainer, as well as plyometrics and strength workouts with light weights.

The 5'6" Latina stunner, who lamented she'll never be as skinny as she was pre-pregnancy, previously revealed her post-baby weight loss plans include a 1,200-calorie-a-day diet and 45- to 60-minute daily workouts.

While Jessica insists she's not worried about losing pregnancy weight quickly, it's likely she'll regain her lithe pre-baby figure in no time, thanks to her strict dieting and workouts.

'Working Out Makes Me Feel Good'

Jessica's exercise regimen typically consists at least 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical trainer, stationary bike or treadmill four times a week combined with light weight-lifting and yoga.

"I try to work out every day for 45 minutes to an hour," she has said. "I start out on the treadmills or elliptical machine for 10 to 15 minutes to get my heart rate up to 180 beats per minute. Then I do 50 lunges and crunches.

"Next I get back on the machine for another 10 minutes. Then I work on shoulders, biceps and triceps. I do that nonstop for four sets. When I work out, I have energy and feel good about myself."

But Alba insists she exercises not just to look good, but also to feel good.

"Working out every day for even just 45 minutes is good for my mental state," she says.
