‘Jessabelle’ haunting new image and trailer

Yesterday the new trailer for the supernatural thriller Jessabelle hit yahoo movies and also premiered at the late night screenings of The Quiet Ones. We gave you a first glance at the film a few days ago and now the trailer has gone official viral and we have it here for you with original image. The film stars American newcomer Sarah Snook and is the latest film in the line of Blumhouse Productions supernatural movies.

"A secret from the past. A curse from the grave Jessabelle in theaters August 29th!"

From the mastermind producer of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes the ghostly tale of Jessabelle. Returning to her childhood home in Louisiana to recuperate from a horrific car accident, Jessabelle (Sarah Snook of Sleeping Beauty) comes face to face with a long-tormented spirit that has been seeking her return -- and has no intention of letting her escape.

The film looks like it will be tons of fun with great scares and smartly crafted cinematography. It's funny to see the mainstream films tackle this age of atmospheric horror as most audiences don't seem to care for them. Looking to bank off the success of films like Sinister, The Conjuring, and Insidious Jessabelle looks to fit in right along with those features. We should be thankful to have filmmakers so bold who intend to return to the notion of horror films being scary. As you will read in our review for The Quiet Ones or saw with The Conjuring the unease of the these films seems to be the overall driving factor.

Jessabelle is directed by Kevin Greutert who has been involved in many of the films we have discussed in this article so he should be more than capable of giving great direction of the film. Sarah is best known for her role in Sleeping Beauty where she played opposite Emily Browning and the Australian born actress is looking to sweep the hearts of horror fans similar to her countryman Sharni Vinson. Sarah already has a few more horror films slated to be out next year so Jessabelle won’t be the last we see from her.

Enjoy the trailer (if you have not seen it) and image and don;t forget to join the Jessabelle campaign on Instagram and Snapchat by following Jessabelle1988 or looking for the #Jessabelle1988. Jessabelle is being released courtesy of Lionsgate/Blumhouse and will hit theaters worldwide August 29th!

Jessabelle is directed by Kevin Greutert and stars Sarah Snook, Mark Webber, David Andrews, Joelle Carter, Ana de la Reguera, Larisa Oleynik, Chris Ellis, Fran Bennett, Amber Stevens.
