Jersey Shore star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi pleaded "not guilty" late this afternoon to disorderly conduct charges. The MTV reality star did not attend the hearing at the Seaside Heights Municipal Court, but instead was represented by her attorney who entered the plea on her behalf. Attorney and legal expert Bryan Konoski, who is not involved in Snooki's case, tells Examiner.com, "It is possible that NJ law permits appearance by an attorney to resolve the case since it is merely a violation and not an actual criminal charge."
Snooki was arrested on July 30 after she was allegedly very drunk in public. She was issued a court summons following the arrest in which she reportedly cursed out cops in a drunken rant. Snooki and the rest of the Jersey Shore stars were filming Jersey Shore Season 3 in Seaside Heights at the time of Snooki's arrest.
Snooki is not facing jail time but is facing a fine anywhere between $250 and $1,000.
