‘Jersey Shore’s’ The Situation sues over alleged ‘GTL’ trademark

The Situation is certainly a man of his word.

It has been a few weeks since ‘Jersey Shore’ cast member Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino threatened to sue a guido lifestyle company for apparently cashing in on his ‘GTL’ trademark and now his lawyer is moving forward with the lawsuit.

Sorrentino’s lawyer sent a cease and desist letter to a website named ‘MyGTLFuel.com telling the company to stop using his trademark slogan or he would be taking further legal action against them.

The company has decided to continue selling their tanning and energy drink products using the ‘GTL’ name, so The Situation has moved forward on his lawsuit against the company.  He has asked a judge to force the company to stop selling their products under the GTL name and to destroy any and all infringing merchandise the company may have.

The owner of GTL Fuel, Dana Valentino, claims that Sorrentino doesn’t have a case against them, saying that The Situation may have filed an application to trademark ‘GTL’, but at this point he doesn’t have the exclusive rights to it.

Valentino wants to settle the matter amicably, but says that he will continue to defend his business.
