'Jersey Shore' may not be on the Top Baby Names of 2011, but the MTV reality show is certainly making it's presence known when it comes to baby name trends. The name "Jersey" is making a comeback with a 16% rise in 2011 according to Baby Center. The traditinally old fashion name 'Florence' (also the Italian city where Jersey Shore Season 4 was filmed) jumped 236 spots in 2011.
The names of the Jersey Shore stars - especially boys - seem to be influencing baby name trends, as well. Jersey Shore's self-proclaimed 'villian' 'Michael' dropped one spot from 2010. But the names of the other three Jersey Shore boys were all on the rise. Vinny - who's quickly becoming a fan favorite - rose a whopping 325 spots to the #725 most popular boys name this year.
As for the girls - Sammi took a dramatic dive in 2011, as did Deena - after both saw a big up year in 2010 (although Deena did not join the cast of Jersey Shore until January 2011). The name Nicole remained about the same, while Jenni (and Jennifer) both dipped in 2011.
