Jersey Shore star DJ Pauly D is trading in the warm beaches he's used to for the ice cold waters of the Chesapeake - and it's all to benefit the Special Olympics. The MTV reality star was confirmed today (Friday) as a special guest at this year's 15th Annual Polar Bear Plunge in Annapolis, Maryland on January 29, 2011.
Along with headlining the 2011 MSP Polar Bear Plunge entertainment line up by playing pre-and-post Plunge sets, Pauly D is also slated to participate in at least one other Plunge-day activity. While it hasn't been confirmed what it is yet, organizers say don't expect Pauly D to put on his suit, show off his abs, and do the Plunge himself. (The blowout may be a lot of things, but apparenlty it's not waterproof.)

While the entertainment is all free and open to the public, a limited number of Jersey Shore fans who donate $500 to the Special Olympics of Maryland can also be a part of a Pauly D Meet & Greet.
Maryland State Police (MSP) Polar Bear Plunge participants take a quick dip in the Chesapeake Bay to raise funds for Special Olympics Maryland, the state’s largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
