Bentonville, Ark. resident Zachary Holly, 28, was arraigned in Benton County Circuit Court on Monday, Jan. 7 in front of Judge Robin Green. And the suspect in the rape and murder of Jersey Bridgeman, age 6, pleaded "not guilty" to the crime according to KNWA News.
Judge Green issued a February 28th omnibus court date in Division 2 court for Holly according to 5News. And the suspect remains incarcerated at the Benton County Jail without a bond.
Four felony charges were leveled against the suspect last week, which include residential burglary, kidnapping, rape and capital murder pertaining to the Jersey Bridgeman case.
The child went missing on Nov. 20 after returning home with her mother Desarae Bridgeman and younger sister following childcare provided by Holly and his wife earlier in the evening.
The body of the young victim was found in an abandoned home between her mother's house and the Holly residence mere minutes after police were notified around 6:45 a.m.
The FBI assisted in the investigation into the child's kidnapping, rape and murder, and during the autopsy a semen sample was recovered from the child's body. Police say a DNA comparison provided evidence to arrest Holly after he agreed to a swab of his cheek and testing concluded a match. The suspect also turned over his clothing worn the night he babysat the victim, providing additional evidence.
