Jerry Seinfeld had fans of his former hit show Seinfeld screaming for joy on Monday. The celebrity took time from his work to offer a celebration message for the Festivus celebration. Started on his show, the entertainer obviously has seen how popular the annual day has become with all the fans. Celebrated on December 23 every year, the tradition always has people looking at the famous clip from the show.
“...As I rained blows upon him, I thought to myself, 'There must be a better way,'” tweeted Jerry Seinfeld from his official Twitter account. “Happy Festivus everybody!!”
The show started the popularity of Festivus for the Rest of Us in a 1997 episode of the sitcom Seinfeld. It was a secular holiday celebrated on December 23, which serves as an alternative to participating in the pressures and commercialism of the Christmas holiday season. Frank Costanza (who is played by Jerry Stiller) reveals his Festivus pole and the episode offers plenty of laughs at the idea of the celebration that has the cast of the show at Constanza’s celebrating the holiday.
