Jerry Brown responds to Gloria Allred press conference with Meg Whitman's ex-maid, Nicky Diaz
As previously reported, the former housekeeper for Meg Whitman, Nicky Diaz, held a press conference Wednesday with well-known Los Angeles-based attorney Gloria Allred. Diaz claims she was abused by Whitman, click here for a previous aricle on the story, including video of the press conference and Whitman's reponse. Diaz's legal name is Nicandra Diaz Santillan.
Below is the response from Jerry Brown, the Democrat's candidate for the California governor job.
"Nicky Diaz has a compelling story, and it is our hope that she will be treated with respect and dignity as this story unfolds.
"Once again, Meg Whitman has shown that she thinks the rules don't apply to her. After more than a year of Whitman demanding immigration policy that “holds employers accountable,” we learn that accountability doesn't extend to her own actions. From the start, Meg Whitman has failed to tell Californians the truth - about her voting record, her positions on climate change, her history of conflict with staffers, or about Jerry Brown. California deserves a governor who tells the truth.”
Allred is a supporter of Jerry Brown, prompting Whitman supporters to call the press conference a political stunt.
Both Brown and Whitman are from the San Francisco Bay Area. Brown lives in Oakland, Whitman in the wealthy community of Atherton, about a half-hour south of San Francisco.
Both Whitman and Brown are actively courting the Latino vote.

i am on the fence about who to vote for, jerry brown should distance himself from gloria allred. she is not helping his cause as far as my vote is concerned, i find her to be the stereotypical, annoying media hound ambulance chaser.
i need a state government who will sit down and work, not stupid games....
