Jeremy Irons gay remarks: English actor under fire over gay marriage comments (Video)

Contact Music reported on April 5, 2013, that British actor Jeremy Irons has sparked outrage by saying that gay marriage might lead to fathers getting married to their sons to avoid inheritance tax in Briton.

Irons made the statement in an interview with Huffington Post and said a law allowing same-sex marriage will create a loophole to bypass the U.K.'s heavy death taxes.

The Huffington Posts quoted Irons as saying, "Could a father not marry his son?... It's not incest between men (because) incest (law) is there to protect us from inbreeding, but men don't breed..." adding, 'I don't have a strong feeling either way.

"Living with another animal, whether it be a husband or a dog, is great. It's lovely to have someone to love."

His remarks created a furore among the gay rights campaigners in Briton and they branded the comments as “bizarre”.

Irons also added that he wishes “Everybody who is living with one other person the best of luck in the world because it's fantastic,” adding: “Living with another animal, whether it be a husband or a dog, is great.”

Irons is married to actress Sinead Cusack for 34 years.
