Jeremy Irons' gay marriage and incest concerns with loop holes in the law

Jeremy Irons voiced his concerns on the possibility of incest within a gay marriage. Can a father marry a son? This is one of the questions that Irons asks during a recent interview. The “Borgias” actor “ also suggested that a father might marry a son to pass down his property without estate taxes upon his death, according to MSN Today on April 5, 2013.

Irons said that “technically it would not be incest if it were between two men because incest is there to protect us from inbreeding, but men don't breed.” He also said he has not strong feelings either way about same-sex marriage.

Irons worries that this fight for equality for same-sex marriage will somehow “debase” or change what marriage really is. Irons' seems to have a different way with words when explaining his feelings on same-sex partners, saying:

“Living with another animal, whether it be a husband or a dog, is great,” Irons' said. I don't think sex matters at all. What it's called I don't think doesn't matter at all.”

It seems Irons' has thought through all the legal loop-holes same sex marriage would open up for getting out of paying taxes! Instead of paying an estate tax in a gay marriage with kids, just marry the kid and that does away with estate taxes. The property is now it is going to a legal spouse, where the taxes differ.

His questions about the loop holes in the law may be a concern, as someone somewhere might find a way to abuse this loophole. This is not one of the perks that most people are after when wanting to join in marriage with a same-sex partner.
