Jenny McCarthy, new co-host of "The View", had some doubts about "Blue Bloods" star Donnie Wahlberg before the two started dating. It wasn't because she thought he was a bad boy, but because she thought he was gay. As E! Online reports on September 12, McCarthy said in a radio interview that she questioned Wahlberg's sexuality because he didn't ask her out right away.
The former "Playboy" cover girl is use to immediate attention from men, but was more surprised Wahlberg took his time in asking her out on a date. The couple met back in March on the set of McCarthy's Vh1 talk show. She admitted she didn't know if she was ready to date when she met Wahlberg but gave him her phone number anyway.
To her surprise, it took Wahlberg two weeks to call which put doubt in her head.
"It took two weeks for him to call me back, and I thought for sure he was playing for a different team, if you know what I'm saying. That's of course my ego, a girl's ego: 'He must be married, he's gay, what's wrong?"
Maybe he was just being old fashioned and a gentleman. When Wahlberg finally reached out to McCarthy, she admits things have been "awesome" as they took their time getting to know one another.
Donnie Wahlberg hasn't really been linked to gay rumors before. Back in 2011 his New Kids On The Block band mate, Jordan Knight, revealed he was gay. During a recent concert, Wahlberg did plant a kiss on Knight as a birthday gift proving, if anything, that Wahlberg is pretty confident and secure about his sexuality. So Jenny McCarthy has nothing to worry about, at least when it comes to any competition from other men.
