What is it about the Boston Red Sox that their hottest sideline reporters always seem to end up dating players or other people involved with the teams they are covering? The latest is Jenny Dell, who was the sideline reporter for the Red Sox for the past two seasons, but who is now being reassigned because she is openly dating and apparently living with Red Sox third basemen Will Middlebrooks.

Jenny Dell is just the latest in a long line of Boston Red Sox hottest sideline reporters who have dated or married players and other people involved with the teams they were covering. Nobody really takes the sideline reporters that seriously in sports, but there is zero credibility in what you are reporting when you have a vested interest.

Here's a list of the hottest Red Sox reporters and women involved with covering the team in some form who dated players or other people involved with teams they covered. I've also included a slideshow of photos of these hottest women reporters who covered the Boston Red Sox in some capacity at one time.

  • Jenny Dell

As mentioned above, Jenny Dell is no longer the sideline reporter with the Boston Red Sox, after the Boston Globe reported that not only is Jenny Dell dating Will Middlebrooks, she is living with him. C'mon, she now has first hand knowledge of inside stuff with the Red Sox, how can that not be good for a reporter covering the team?

  • Heidi Watney

Heidi Watney is red hot (see photos in the slideshow), and she was the Red Sox sideline reporter from 2008 to 2011. Heidi Watney was long rumored to be dating various Red Sox players while being their sideline reporter, like Jason Varitek and Nick Green. It's also rumored she dated one of the Red Sox groundskeepers too.

You gotta love how close she was to what she was covering on the air. Great journalism in action.

Erin Andrews has never worked for the Red Sox, but she did a funny interview with Red Sox player Mike Napoli for FOX after Napoli hit a home run off Justin Verlander, during which Erin Andrews almost said Justin Bieber instead of Verlander. Erin Andrews has been rumored to have dated players from different sports, she has been seen eating in public with Aaron Rodgers, and is dating NHL player Jarret Stoll.

  • Tina Cervasio

As far as I know, Tina Cervasio, who was with the Red Sox from 2006 to 2007, was not linked romantically to any Red Sox player, but after she left to go to MSG, she married a statistician who works for the New Jersey Devils. I guess that is not too bad a conflict as Tina Cervasio covers the Red Bulls and the New York Knicks, not the Rangers for MSG.

  • Hazel Mae

I don't think Hazel Mae was ever a sideline reporter for the Red Sox, but she was a sports anchor for their cable company, NESN. Hazel Mae is married to former major league baseball player Kevin Barker, and she was also rumored to have had an affair with former Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke, who was fired.

Hazel Mae works for Sporstsnet in Canada which covers Toronto. Burke has vigorously denied the claim of an affair with Hazel Mae, even filing a defamation lawsuit about it.

  • Kathryn Tappen

Kathryn Tappen was never a sideline reporter for the Red Sox, but she was anchor on the NESN sportsdesk. Tappen was the studio host for Boston Bruins games, and she married former New Jersey Devils player Jay Leach.

  • Wendi Nix

Wendi Nix worked for NESN in her career, and is currently working for ESPN. For a time, Wendi Nix was married to current Boston Red Sox GM Ben Cherington. How is that not a conflict of interest ESPN?

  • Debbi Wrobleski Taylor

Debbi Wrobleski Taylor was the sideline reporter for the Red Sox from 1996 to 2001. She is married to former MLB pitcher Wade Taylor.
