For two years, 2011 and 2012, Jennifer Lopez graced the “American Idol” stage as a judge, but not for Season 12. Sadly, Randy Jackson left the competition after this last lackluster year that was full of catfights and eye rolls between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. The two announced their AI departure shortly after the season finale.
The 44-year-old “Live It Up” singer will be back when the show returns in January of 2014, along with fan favorite, Keith Urban. A third “American Idol” judge who would join Jennifer Lopez has yet to be announced, however, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Fergie and wil.i.am are all contenders.
Before FOX had made the big announcement, Casper Smart, JLo’s beau, spilled the beans, when he mistakenly informed E! News about Jennifer Lopez’s "American Idol” return.
Auditions for “American Idol” are currently underway, online and in cities across the US. “American Idol”, Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban return to FOX in January.
