Jennifer Lopez wants an Academy Award (Video)

Jennifer Lopez wants an Academy Award apparently. The actress has even thought about what she will say in her acceptance speech, but she may need to pick her roles more carefully if that is her ultimate endeavor. According to a report from Marc Malkin on Wednesday (Jan. 16), Lopez noted those things and more while on her promotional tour for her upcoming film "Parker."

Maybe seeing Ben Affleck (her former fiance) getting so many accolades for his film Argo has her pining for some awards of her own. Maybe she even regrets not being where Jennifer Garner (Affleck's wife) sits as she draws her own accolades during awards season. It's also simply possible that Lopez wants to fulfill the dream of every actress and walk up on that Academy Awards stage to all the applause.

"Parker," an action movie starring Jason Statham, probably isn't the movie that he going to get her that honor though. Lopez does have some roles in her past that have been met with acclaim from critics, including "Out of Sight," "An Unfinished Life," and "Selena." There are other roles that have been met with disdain, though, and they include "Gigli," "Anaconda," and "The Back-Up Plan."

While Jennifer Lopez might want an Academy Award, she may need to start pursuing roles with understated characters that have her in a supporting role. There is certainly nothing wrong with winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
