Jennifer Lopez to perform and receive Icon award at The Billboard Music Awards

Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. The show will take place live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18, 2014. The show will air on ABC.

Lopez will be the first woman to receive the The Icon Awards. The Icon award is a life time achievement award which was added to The Billboard Award four years ago. Past recipients include Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, and Prince.

Lopez will also perform with Pitbull at the awards. They will debut the official anthem of this year’s FIFA World Cup, “We Are One (Ole Ola).” She will also perform her single, “First Love,”. The single will be on her 10th album titled “AKA”, which is will be release on June 17.

Lopez can seen once a week as a judge on "American Idol" on Fox. The show will have their two day finale right the same as The Billboard Awards on May 20 and 21st.

Also performing on the show will be 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, John Legend and OneRepublic.

Imagine Dragons and Lorde lead the nominations with 12 each. Justin Timberlake follows with 11.
