According to Yahoo Movies on Feb. 3, Jennifer Lawrence made a film festival appearance in Santa Barbara, Calif. yesterday to accept the award for "Most Outstanding Performer of the Year." While at the event, Lawrence called the entire award season an "exhausting honor."
Outside of her Academy Award nomination for "Silver Linings Playbook," Lawrence won a Golden Globes award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, picked up the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy, won Best Female Performance at the MTV Movie Awards for "The Hunger Games," and won the People's Choice Award for "Favorite Movie Actress."
Along the way, she has appeared on numerous talk shows, including Piers Morgan's, where he had to relive her wardrobe malfunction from the Golden Globes Awards and Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" where she explained her "I beat Meryl Streep" comment.
All the while, Jennifer Lawrence has appeared to be funny, humble and very charming. She also seems more like a regular person than most stars who appear at these awards events.
“It’s really rare that saying ‘yes’ to something will completely change your life," Lawrence said at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. "I was happy with my life. And I always had this imaginary future where I’d be a soccer mom. It just didn’t fit with taking on a giant franchise.”
Lawrence then finished with some comforting information.
“It’s a great feeling," Lawrence said about being a role model. "Fortunately, I don’t have a secret life I have to worry about getting out, so I can enjoy it.”
