Jennifer Lawrence has been embroiled in a controversy of her own making.
Now, according to an article published on BuzzFeed on Jan. 21, the evidence is in. It looks like that photo of her backside, snapped while she was surfing in Hawaii, is real and not retouched or Photoshopped.
The story picked up steam when Lawrence went on the David Letterman Show and focused attention on a picture of her in a bikini, walking away from the camera. The "Hunger Games" star objected to the picture, describing it as showing she had a "90-year-old butt" and claiming it must have been retouched.
But the intrepid reporters at BuzzFeed did some digging and found another photo snapped just a moment later. In that picture, Jennifer Lawrence is standing still, rather than being in mid-stride. There's not a wrinkle in sight.
It just goes to show that even movie stars are prone to an unflattering appearance, even if only for a split second. And, without a mirror, the backside is the hardest part of the body to examine closely. That's what the paparazzi are for.
The 'retouched butt" controversy doesn't seem to have affected Lawrence's career or the accolades pouring in for her acting ability. She's up for an Oscar next month.
Luckily, she doesn't act with her derrière.
