The 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on Jan. 27, 2013, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Here is what this Screen Actors Guild Award winner said backstage in the Golden Globe Awards press room.

What has been some valuable advice you’ve gotten about acting or awards shows?
I grew up in a normal family, and I have mostly normal friends. So I haven’t really had too many people give me much advice. Normally. I’m just like, “Oh my God! What are you doing?” But the people I have worked with, they don’t even really give advice.
It’s mostly just support and love. I’ve been so honored to work with such incredible people that I’ve learned from, but I think you can probably tell from my public speaking that I haven’t gotten that much advice on it and red carpets as well. Still waiting on how to get a couple of tips on how to shut up.
Can you talk about the dress that you’re wearing?
This is Dior Haute Couture. And I’m wearing Chopard jewels.
In your acceptance speech, you talked about getting your SAG card by doing something for MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16.” What would you tell that version of you back then, knowing what you know now?
I would never tell that version of me that this was going to happen. I’d become a nightmare. I’d be like, “Well, of course!” I was a 14-year-old idiot. It wouldn’t have been a good idea. I probably would’ve just been like, “You’re going to fail, so stop being so full of yourself.”
You weren’t feeling well at the Golden Globes this year. Are you feeling better tonight?
I’m so much better. I’m a lot better. I was on a lot of medication. I got a really cool inhaler. I’m doing much better. Thank you.
After this awards season is over, do you plan to take a vacation?
I hope so. I’m going to go to an island somewhere. I’m not telling anyone where I’m going. That’s my plan. Where are there some islands? I’ll go find them.
