Shortly after solidifying her position as the undisputed queen of women's mixed martial arts, UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been offered an opportunity to co-star in a future sequel to "The Hunger Games" alongside 2013 Oscar Awards winner, Jennifer Lawrence.
According to a Tuesday report from Dave Meltzer of "The Wrestling Observer," Rousey, if willing, would appear on the "next" installment of the 2012 box office blockbuster. Having that said, it is unclear as to when "Rowdy" could make her silver screen debut.
Considering the second part of the movie series, "Catching Fire," is scheduled to hit theaters in November, Rousey's offer would presumably be for the third film.
Representatives for the Judo (Olympic) bronze medalist had no comment on the "Hunger Games" report, but a source with knowledge of the situation tells The New York Post that "there is a lot of interest in Ronda for movies, but she just won the biggest fight of her career and she's been focused on that."
The 26-year-old Rousey remained unbeaten in her MMA career, submitting Liz Carmouche Saturday night at UFC 157 in Anaheim, California.
The victory was the seventh of her career, all which have come by a way of first first-round armbar. Will Ronda follow in Gina Carano's footsteps this early in her WMMA career?
