Jennifer Hudson has revealed she is sober and has never used drugs. Us Magazine reports on Oct. 11 that Hudson shared the news with Chelsea Handler on her show. The 32-year-old actress has been busy promoting her new movie “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete.”
Hudson claims she has never had a drink or used any type of drugs. The actress turned to “Chelsea Lately” to mention she has been sober her entire life, so it was a challenge for her to play a heroin addict in her new film. She relied on meetings with former addicts to learn more about her role in “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete.”
The 32-year-old actress plays Gloria in the new film, and she admits the role was not easy for her. Hudson states that playing the drug addict and mother forced her to explore a different side of her talent. She admits that many people do not believe her sober claims, but she does not seem to care.
A former addict deserves credits for Hudson’s performance in “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete.” The actress identifies her only as Lisa and shares that the woman helped her understand heroin addiction by sharing intimate details of her life.
