Oscar and Grammy winner, and “Smash” star Jennifer Hudson joined 24 children from the Sandy Hook Elementary School chorus for a beautiful rendition of “America The Beautiful” at the Super Bowl XLVII pre-game ceremony in New Orleans on Feb. 3.
Hudson was chic in a black, leather Monika Chiang turtleneck-style top, paired with a white L’Wren Scott skirt. She added a green ribbon to her top in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
A few moments before joining the children, Hudson, who lost her mother, brother and nephew to deadly gun violence, tweeted,
“Such a privilege to be performing w the Sandy Hook elementary chorus at the #SuperBowl today. We go on just before kick off! From my heart to yours! Such an Emotional roller coaster [and] So close to home. NoNo matter who or what we r, we must pray! Thank u lord for this day! May thy will be done! Have your way, oh God!!”
