Jennifer Hudson Lights Up 7-Eleven Coffee Cup With A Cause

Jennifer Hudson is the latest celebrity to join the “7-Eleven Coffee Cup With A Cause” program. The Oscar and Grammy-winning star returned to her hometown of Chicago, Ill., Wednesday to spend time with kids from eight different Boys & Girls Clubs of America locations in the Chicago area.

Hudson grew up on Chicago’s South Side and it’s where she won her first talent show. “There’s nothing like being able to come home and give back, and ‘7-Eleven’s Coffee Cup With A Cause’ program lets me do that,” she said.

Hudson’s cup went on sale Thursday at participating 7-Eleven® stores across the U.S and will be available through May 31, or while supplies last. A portion of the proceeds from cups featuring her personal design called “Light of Peace” will benefit her designated charity, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Her coffee cup design features a brightly burning candle as the focal point and is inscribed with the words “Light of Peace” in Hudson’s handwriting. Hudson’s autograph also is on the cups.

Throughout 2010, Dallas-based 7-Eleven, Inc. will introduce limited-edition 20-ounce coffee cups designed by entertainment and sports celebrities to be sold in its U.S. stores. Proceeds from “7-Eleven Coffee Cup With A Cause” cup sales benefit the featured celebrity’s charity of choice. “By partnering with a variety of celebrities and charities like Jennifer Hudson and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, our customers can help make a positive impact on thousands of lives,” said Rita Bargerhuff, 7-Eleven chief market officer.
