Jennifer Aniston's 'The Switch' bombs on opening weekend box office
The widely talked about and promoted Jennifer Aniston movie, The Switch, pretty much bombed at the box office this weekend coming in at number eight and making only $8.1 million.

The Switch, which is about a single woman that wants to have a child with a donor, was passed by for the action-packed The Expendables, which came in at number one with $16.5 million, the Twilight spoof Vampires Suck at number two with $12.2 million and Eat Pray Love landing on the third spot earning $12 million.
Other films that trumped over The Switch were Piranha 3D and Lottery Ticket. This is one of the lowest grossing movies for Aniston, with her March action comedy Bounty Hunter making a nice $20 million in its first weekend.

The reviews for the movie were on the poor side with most critics giving it one or two stars. RottenTomatoes.com shows a 51% result on all their reviews, giving it a 'splat' tomato.

Peter Travers of Rolling Stone wrote, "The film offers few — make that no — surprises. What almost saves it is the acting." and Lou Lumenick of the New York Post said that the movie "tries to be more than a sitcom but keeps falling back on cheap laughs."

I saw Switch this weekend with girlfriends. We thought it was a great movie. It is edgy in that everyone is shot so closeup. It is fast moving. The story was cute. I'm glad I went. I was surprised that the theatre wasn't packed, however.
