Jennifer Aniston is 41 and fabulous, but her latest fad diet is raising eyebrows.
Aniston is eating puréed baby food as part of a modified fast to lose weight, says her trainer Tracy Anderson, 35.
In fact, Jennifer has already lost seven pounds in one week by eating 14 servings of baby food during the day, followed by a healthy normal dinner, says Anderson.
The diet includes fruit smoothies, pureed oatmeal and pears with cinnamon, soups containing dandelion greens and a dinner of lean meats and vegetables.
'PUREED BABY FOOD DIET ELIMINATES TOXICITY'
"I developed a cleanse where you can still eat and it's a lot of purée foods," Tracy told Hollyscoop. "I was very careful about the foods I chose to put in it. When you do these liquid cleanses I felt a responsibility to come up with something."
She adds: "Liquid cleanses do help you lose weight but you will gain more the next week. I wanted something where you can eliminate toxicity, break bad habits but still have your digestive system going. That is when the baby food cleanse was born."
In general, fitness experts do not recommend fasts or low-calorie diets. While the baby food diet has some good points (baby food is generally free of additives and packed with vitamins), it's essentially a low-calorie eating program that's hard to maintain long-term.
ANISTON'S TRAINER ALSO WORKED WITH MADONNA
Anderson, who is based in New York, is a single mom who became famous for being Madonna's personal trainer. In October 2009, Madonna, 51, and Tracy split after working together for three years. A few months earlier, Madonna had made headlines for sporting super-veiny, muscular arms that the press criticized as ugly and manly.
Anderson, whose A-list clients also include Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Shakira, is set to star in her own reality show this summer.
Aniston is currently in Hawaii filming the romantic comedy Just Go With It, co-starring Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl Brooklyn Decker.
