On Jan. 9, Jennifer Aniston showed up at Nokia Theatre, L.A. live for the People's Choice Awards (PCA) 2013 while wearing a wild looking Dior frock.
The funky fashion pick, made of leather and sporting a short, full skirt, was a departure for this seasoned actress who usually keeps her sartorial statements very sleek and extremely simple. Apparently, the star who rocked a deep tan earned in Mexico earlier this month felt the need for change.
But that was the least of Aniston's contribution to the big evening in Tinseltown where all kinds of entertainers were feted for their work in television, in music, and on film.
In fact, the newly engaged actress who made the climb to fame by appearing on the popular sitcom "Friends" was called up to the stage to take possession of her very own version of the Waterford crystal trophy all winners of this event were given to take home.
But, before the 42-year-old made much progress on that long walk of fame from her seat to the podium, she stopped to hug her good friend, Ellen DeGeneres, who was sitting behind her in the iconic venue.
Then Aniston went on to give a tearful speech for winning Favorite Comedic Movie Actress in a competition that also included Cameron Diaz, Emily Blunt, Mila Kunis, and Resse Witherspoon. To be sure, Jen was in good company when she took this particular award given because the people voted for her more than they did for her colleagues in their category.
And so, after wiping away the tears as she finished up her speech to a whole bunch of cheers, Jennifer Aniston went back stage wearing a wide smile to hang out with pal Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia DeRossi, at PCA 2013.
Indeed, for this friendly thespian, Wednesday night was a good night when Aniston attended a very good award show held during a very good year in her native Los Angeles.
