Jennifer Aniston isn't afraid of Bill O'Reilly. And why should she be? She's richer, better looking, and has way more fans.
Aniston told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America" Thursday that the ultra-conservative Fox News talk show was ridiculous and unfair to accuse her of being "destructive to society" over comments she made about single motherhood.
O'Reilly apparently got all riled up over Aniston's comments in a Sunday press conference about her new movie "The Switch." She plays a woman looking for a sperm donor in the film. According to ABC News, she told reporters:
"Women are realizing more and more that you don't have to settle. They don't have to fiddle with a man to have that child. They are realizing if it's that time in their life and they want this part they can do it with or without that."
She also said, "I don't think it's selfish. It's quite beautiful, because there are children that don't have homes can have a home and can be loved. And that's extremely important."
O'Reilly called Aniston's views a threat to the American family. On his Tuesday show, he said, "She's throwing a message out to 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds that 'Hey, you don't need a guy. You don't need a dad.' That is destructive to our society."
Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson agreed, saying Aniston was "glamorizing single parenthood."
On Thursday's GMA show, Aniston said sarcastically that she wasn't just glorifying single motherhood.
"I was actually glorifying 12-year-olds going out there and getting knocked up and doing it by themselves," she joked. Then she turned to the camera and added: "Because that's what I like to preach!"
