Jennette McCurdy:'Sam and Cat' star dissatisfied, is Jennette McCurdy underpaid?

Rumored Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande drama is believed to be the reason behind "Sam and Cat” taking a break after the final episode of season 1 airing Saturday. The popular Nickelodeon series has been impacted by the discord happening and a rep from the network didn't deny the speculations, IB Times reported April 25.

The extra 20 episodes of "Sam and Cat" have been too much for McCurdy and Grande to continue filming.

“We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of 'Sam & Cat,' and everyone is understandably tired,” the rep told E! News. “We are going into our production hiatus next week which will give everyone on the show a much needed rest.”

According to a tweet Jennette McCurdy posted, she let fans know that the reports they've read are somewhat true. She was straightforward in her post after her absence from the "Kids Choice Awards" by writing:

“I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing.”

Rumored reports last month indicated that Ariana Grande is making more money on "Sam and Cat" than McCurdy. There were claims that tension had risen between the two young actresses over this issue. There was an incident in which Jennette posted some inappropriate selfies online and she was criticized for her actions because she's been held as a good role model for young people. She addressed this in the rest of her lengthy tweet:

"My previous tweet has nothing to do with pics leaked.oh you guys lol. It has to do with how nickelodeon treated me. That's all. Thanks for the love."

What is Ariana Grande's reaction to all of the rumors that she's paid more to star on "Sam and Cat" than McCurdy? She posted a tweet firing back at the rumors, denying she's treated any differently or paid more than her co-star.

"The rumors circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false," Grande wrote. "I don’t know who’s putting these idiotic quotes out there but I thought I’d straighten it out and try to end this nonsense.”

Will Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande have a better experience when "Sam and Cat" launches the second stage of filming?

According to an April 25 report by KPopStarz, Cristina Palumbo of SiriusXM radio thinks McCurdy's racy selfies could help her career.

"Every star that has done this has been handsomely rewarded in the long run as far as fame is concerned," Cristina said. "It can't hurt her. I don't think anything can hurt you nowadays."
