Dewan Tatum, who ate well and exercised during her pregnancy, said her longtime dance training enabled her to snap back into shape in record time.

“I danced for 22 years of my life, hardcore, every day, seven hours a day," Jenna told Ocean Drive Jan. 2. "So I’m lucky that [my body] likes to snap back to that shape as long as I put a little effort into it, but I’m really active."

In addition to cardio-dance workouts at home, yoga and lots of hiking, Dewan Tatum works out with a trainer who combines strength-training with aerobic exercise.

“I work with a trainer named Jennifer Johnson in LA," said Jenna. "She’s a dancer as well, and she does this amazing workout that’s part cardio, part strength-training, part Pilates-based. I gave birth in London, and all I did was hike."

Dewan Tatum said she also uses her baby to get in some exercise when they're together at home. "When Everly was born, I was literally rocking her probably 10 times a day for 45 minutes," she said. "And I turned it into a workout, doing squats and lunges around the house.”

Jenna, who has been vegetarian since age 13, said her vegan diet accelerated her weight loss. She said she wants to pass on her healthy eating habits to Everly.

Interestingly, Jenna's husband, Channing Tatum, tried a vegan diet last year but lapsed after gaining weight on it. “I gained weight, because I don’t like vegetables, so I basically had to wrap them in bread,” said Channing, 33.

For now, Jenna is enjoying being a new mom with Channing, whom she praised for being a great partner and excellent father.

“He’s Mr. Play Funtime Dad," she said. "So every time Channing comes in, he’s singing to [Everly]. She literally lights up when he walks in the room.”
