On Jan. 23 E Online reports that the "Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans has filed four counts of assault on a female with child against her husband of less than two months, Courtland Rogers. Her attorney told E that Jenelle was being physically abused over a period of time since their marriage began. The charges were filed today in a Brunswick courthouse this afternoon.
Recently, Jenelle tweeted claims that she was getting a divorce, this is the third time she's said this, and that she may be miscarrying, likely because of the physical abuse, and Courtland is headed out of town. The four counts of abuse are considered misdemeanors with the highest possible sentence that could bring Courtland 150 days in jail for each count. Because Jenelle is a victim in this, the state of North Carolina will defend her. Her attorney does say that whether she is miscarrying or not, as of this morning when he saw her, she is still pregnant.
Many are wondering what even sparked Jenelle's need to go to the hospital earlier this morning and it seems that the news of a mystery girl that was texting Jenelle, telling her that she is also pregnant, may be a cause. It seems that Courtland just can't keep it in his pants to be faithful for a second. Most people that have seen "Teen Mom 2" aren't really surprised considering Jenelle has chosen nothing but bad men for herself and always puts them before her son whom she still doesn't have custody of.
Courtland and Jenelle's court date is set for Feb. 18. Whether divorce proceedings will happen at the same time is yet to be seen, but it is likely that the proceedings will begin at that date.
