Physical sicknesses are not the only ailments in the Body of Christ. Some people are mentally ill, and others are emotionally afflicted. However, like the woman with the issue of blood, we can reach out to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment so we can be healed.

Significance of his hem

What is the significance of touching the hem of Jesus’s garment? In Numbers 15:37-41, God told Moses the Israelites had to create tassels with blue thread on the corners of their garments. Then when they looked at those tassels, they would remember all the Lord’s commandments.

Symbolism of blue in the Bible

Blue (in the Bible) symbolizes grace, divinity, God’s word, Messiah, Holy Spirit, priesthood, and the Truth. Healing is part of God’s word, right? Therefore, when the woman in Luke 8:43-48 touched Jesus’s hem, she was remembering the word of God (along with the promises of healing).

Jehovah-Rapha is our healer

Furthermore, in the Bible, Jehovah-Rapha means “The Lord that heals”. Exodus 15:26 reads, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

If you are sick physically, mentally, emotionally, or financially, remember that Jehoval-Rapha is your healer. As a child of God, healing is yours.
