Jeffrey Dahmer’s childhood home is up for sale, according to an NBC news report on Wednesday. The home is located in Summit County which is in Northeast Ohio.

Locals are well aware that the house has haunting history while others may not know about it. The house is where serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer lived when he was a child. It is the home in which Dahmer killed his first victim in 1978.

Realtor Rich Lubinski of Stouffer Realty admits that selling the house may be a huge challenge. Yet, he says that in the current market, the home’s potential future sale is not impossible. The latest selling price – as it has been on the market repeatedly before – is $295,000.

Within Lubinski’s sale pitch, he says that though the house has an unattractive history, “this house never killed anyone.” He also asserts that the current seller’s market is why he took on the challenge of selling this piece of property.

Naturally, anyone who buys the house will have many curiosity seekers who are interested – for some reason – as to where Jeffrey Dahmer lived as a child and where he killed his first victim. Last month, in fact, a Japanese film crew came from Japan to do a story on Dahmer having lived at the house.

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer lived from 1960 to 1994. He was a serial killer and sex offender who committed the rape, murder and dismemberment of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. His later murders involved necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts. He was sentenced to 16 terms of life in prison. Of the known murders, he committed 15 of the murders in Wisconsin and one in Ohio. He was beaten to death in prison by a fellow inmate in 1994 where he was imprisoned.

The house, built in the 1950s, is located at 4480 West Bath Road and is described as mid-century modern. No tours of the house are being given because, as Lubinski says, “This is not a museum.” Those interested in purchasing the house must have a letter of acceptance letter.
