Jeff Mayweather shares his opinions about Pacquiao - Marquez 3 and the possibilities of a future super fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather.
“Pacquiao got the majority decision win and the fight is still on the table," Mayweather said. "It’s lost some of its luster because of what happened with this fight, but it’s still on the table. You got these Pacmaniacs… It doesn’t matter. They don’t care how bad he looks or anything. They think [Pacquiao] will kill Floyd. After this fight, I think that realistically they know. They know Floyd could be on his worst performance and beat Pac if he fights like that.”

Pacquiao’s next fight?
“See this is the thing that I think Bob Arum’s going to do. He’s in a position where he has to raise Manny’s stock back up. Manny was supposed to go out there and blowout Marquez and make Floyd look bad. He was supposed to do what he did with the Ricky Hatton fight. All these guys he fought after Floyd that he happened to stop or knockout. Bob’s caught in a bad situation now. He might let him go ahead and fight [Timothy] Bradley. I think he’ll beat Bradley, but if he looks bad, who’s going to care about him fighting Floyd at all? I mean, it’s going to be asinine. So basically now, he’s caught in a pickle. Either he’s going to make the fight happen now because he can’t take the risk of Pacquiao not looking spectacular against somebody and then killing the fight altogether. He can’t just grab anybody as an opponent to let Pacquiao jump on. To a boxing fan, not these crazy Pacquiao fans, but to a boxing fan who’s not being judgmental with a predetermined thought in their mind, they’re saying ‘Wow! This guy can’t beat Floyd. How could he?’”
Contrasting Styles:
“People compare this person to that person. Floyd toyed with Marquez. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he will toy with Pacquiao, but chances are he will. Marquez is a boxer that’s not even as elusive as Floyd. I mean, if Manny had so much trouble getting off against Marquez, I can’t imagine Manny even coming close to Floyd. He was exposed even in the Mosley fight. Even though he hurt Mosley, Mosley showed that if you start moving with Pacquiao, he gets lost. He’s got to catch you with something big and slow you down or knock you out.”
LS: I’ve always felt that Pacquiao had a good chance against Floyd because of the sheer volume of punches he throws, but against Mosley and Marquez, his volume has fallen off.
“Well, the other thing is this; if this fight was to take place, I mean, Floyd’s the smartest fighter in boxing. There’s nobody even close to him when it comes to figuring out a guy. Manny Pacquiao is so predictable that within two or three rounds, he will own Manny Pacquiao. Like I said, Bob’s caught in a pickle now. He’s got to make a decision. He can’t take another chance of letting Manny fight somebody else and then really killing the fight. Nobody’s going to care about the fight if he has another bad performance behind the Mosley fight where he played Mr. Friendly, and then this fight… I mean, it was a tough, tough, close fight but to be honest, I did think that Marquez won. But it doesn’t matter what I think because I’m being biased. But there are a whole bunch of other people that feel the exact same way that have no association with Floyd.”
LS: I had it 115 to 113 for Pacquiao. It was a tough fight to score.
“My reason for saying that Marquez won the fight was because, in all honesty, he landed the more effective punches and he was throwing combinations. Pacquiao didn’t fight anything like himself.”
